CEQ developed this guidance to ensure consistent procedures under the National Environmental Policy Act for fuels reduction and fire-adapted ecosystem restoration projects, including development of a model environmental assessment for such projects. The guidance describes core elements of the environmental assessment process and provides an outline for an environmental assessment document tailored to forest and rangeland health projects. This guidance has been withdrawn by CEQ.
