To provide agencies and the public with information relating to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) process, CEQ previously compiled data on the length, by page count, of environmental impact statements (EISs) prepared by Federal agencies. In the 2020 report, CEQ evaluated 656 actions for which the Environmental Protection Agency published a notice of availability for a final EIS between January 1, 2013, and December 31, 2018, and for which a record of decision was issued by June 18, 2019.
A July 2019 report compiled data on the length of EISs issued 2013-2017.
